Mercutio is a great friend, he defends Romeo but is too rash. Tybalt did not want to start a fight with Mercutio, but Mercutio provoked him. They started fighting, but Romeo only wanted peace. Hence, he steps between Tybalt and Mercutio and put up his arms to stop the fight. But he did not expect that that made it worst. Tybalt pushes his sword into Mercutio when Romeo raised his arms up. Mercutio was hurt, it was not a very deep or wide cut, but enough to kill him. In the end, Mercutio died. Knowing that Tybalt killed Mercutio, Romeo could not hold himself back. He started fighting with Romeo, either one of them will have to join Mercutio in death. Romeo kills Tybalt, he falls down. It's all Tybalt's doing. Only if he did not want to fight Romeo, making Mercutio defend for Romeo and hence fighting with him. Then Romeo's best friend Mercutio died, he had to revenge for his friend, causing another death, Tybalt. Friar Laurence asked his brother, Friar John to deliver the letter from him to Romeo. But Friar John couldn't go to Mantua. He wanted another friar to go with him, but he was visiting some sick people. Then the health officers of Verona came and closed the house. He couldn't leave. Hence, Romeo didn't know that Juliet's 'death' was a set-up. He thought that Juliet was dead, and he could not accept it and killed himself with a very strong poison. I should not provoked Juliet, and cause the fight. I only knew one side of the story, which was myopic, cause Romeo killed Tybalt, who was my love's cousin. I thought that Romeo was here to steal things from the vault, and started the fight. I lose the battle, Romeo killed me. After Romeo killed me, he drank the strong poison and ended his life. He did not want to leave Juliet. When he thought Juliet is dead, he finds no meaning of life anymore. If Friar John had delivered the letter, maybe this tragedy would not have happened. ♥Paris |
